Daniel Chan
Instructor
Guitar

Born on 29 June 1983, grew up listening to rock and heavy metal music.Picked up an acoustic guitar at age 15 and switched to electric guitar at age 16. Started formal lessons at the age of 24 when I met my mentor and guitar teacher Rosli Mansor. He influenced me to broaden my musical horizons. While working in Yamaha one of my colleagues introduced me to jazz and the Real Book.

After listening and trying to immerse myself in the complexities of jazz I found that I really wanted to be able to play it well. My biggest influences include such greats as Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Joe Pass, Wes Montgomery, George Benson, Charlie Parker and Kurt Rosenwinkel.
