Jase Sng
Instructor
Bass

Born on October 5th, 1986, he grew up listening mostly to Jamiroquai which piqued his interest to play the electric bass at the age of 12. His love for swing developed through weekly sessions at a local blues club & buying as many jazz albums & concert tickets he could afford with pocket money.

Spending 2 years in Caulfield Grammar School in Melbourne, Australia gave him a chance to broaden his horizons in jazz by performing with various groups; most notably for The No Strings Attached Stage Band which garnered the 1st Runner Up position in Division 2 during the Mount Gambier Jazz Festival of 2004.

Currently teaching electric bass at The Music Lab he plans to pursue Jazz at degree level while steeping himself as much as possible in the art form. His main influences include Yoko Kanno, Ravi Coltrane, John Mclaughlin & the Branford Marsalis Quartet.

Venues performed at:
Old Brown Shoe, Blujaz, Tanglin Club, POW, Esplanade, Kallang Waterfront, Jubilee Hall, Lasalle, 15 Minutes, Love the World (Singapore Flyer)
