Liang Hong started learning the drums at 13. He took lessons from local drum instructors, namely Tan Boon and Hansen Beng (Yamaha) before his first public performance at 16.
Subsequently, over the next 2 years studying in Victoria Junior College, Liang Hong played drums for many school events, and supported many CCAs in their annual concerts.
In 2008, his band emerged champions at MusicFest 2008, a prestigious annual music competition held in Victoria Junior College itself. The finals were judged by accredited personalities in the local entertainment industry.
While in National Service, Liang Hong took part in Drum Challenge Asia 2007 & 2007 organised by Singapore Drumfest in both, and managed to reach the semi-finals both times.
Apart from playing the drumset, Liang Hong is also part of Strikeforce, a professional street percussion band that has performed for numerous major events, like National Day Parade 2006, Chingay 2007 and the Countdown at Marina Bay in 2008. Involvement in the Strikeforce has exposed Liang Hong to performing under different circumstances and situations.
